It was great having Max at home with us last night. He’d spent the night with Mimi and Grandpa for the previous two nights and we missed him.

Mimi took the little fellow to vacation Bible school this morning, and afterward he went to Mimi and Grandpa’s to play with the Lincoln Logs that Mimi gave him yesterday.

Mama and our good friend Jeanie arranged for Max and Jeanie’s granddaughter, Kate, to meet at Everland this afternoon for a playdate. Max said he had a good time playing with Kate, though Mama said he was a little too wild at times.

Max and I bowled on his Wii U this evening and after several rounds he beat me. We used a promotion included with Mario Kart 8 to download Wii Party U from Nintendo’s eShop. Unfortunately, it took far too long to download and we didn’t get to explore the new software tonight.

I meant to write about this about a week ago, but it’s slipped my mind every night. Max and I were watching Smurfs 2 when the issue of stepfathers arose. He asked me if I ever knew a stepfather. I said I had and he reaffirmed my never leaving him and Mama. Then he asked me if I had a father who wasn’t in Heaven. I told him I didn’t and he asked me if I could use Grandpa as my father since I didn’t have one. I told him I reckon I could.

Max’s brain is too active. There’s too much traffic in it. He’s wired up just like his daddy. Bless the little fellow’s heart.
