Playing with Granny, Heading to Pigeon Forge

It’s been a fun and busy day for Max but too frenzied for me. I got up around 6:30 this morning and when Mama got up at 6:50, the little fellow was right on her heels. And he was his regular, turbo-charged self all day until we reached Pigeon Forge, Tennessee, this evening. Then he sacked out and didn’t even wake up when I picked him up from his car seat in the van and inadvertently head-butted him.

I’m thankful for Granny’s keeping our little buddy this morning while I ran a couple of errands. I was tired but had a lot to do, and it’s difficult to concentrate and stay on task when Max is on my heels. Granny even made a trip bag for her favorite grandson filled with the stuff she knows Max loves—cheese puffs, Goldfish and Ritz crackers, wipes, and more. And she gave him twenty bucks to have fun with here in Pigeon Forge.

We have two queen beds here in our hotel room, but the three of us are piling up in one. We have an ice-cold air conditioner to make snuggling up even better.

This year Max will get to enjoy a lot of things he couldn’t before. Now that he’s over forty inches tall, he qualifies for big-boy fun here in Pigeon Forge, such as go-carts and bumper cars.

Max hasn’t had a nap all week and hasn’t slept any longer than nine hours on any night this week. Hopefully we’ll all get a good night’s rest so we’re ready for a day of fun tomorrow.
